The 2021 Caldor Fire burned about 80% of the resort. It stayed closed that winter except one weekend in April, and reopened fully on Dec 3, 2022.
Started in 1946 as Sierra Ski Ranch. Locals still call it "the Ranch"; 2026–27 is its 80th season.
